Our History

Our journey in chemical manufacturing has been marked by continuous growth, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

1950

China National Salt Industry Company, the predecessor of CNSIC, was established under the direct administration of the Central Ministry of Trade.

1954

The company began to operate in conjunction with the National Salt Administration to build a unified industry management system.

1964

Approved by the State Council, a national salt industry trust was formed to oversee unified nationwide salt operations.

1980

China National Salt Industry Corporation and the National Salt Administration were re-established to resume industry management and market activities.

1988

The State Council abolished the National Salt Administration and authorized China National Salt Industry Corporation to manage the industry, establishing it as an administrative corporation.

2000

Decoupled from the State Bureau of Light Industry, the company shifted from administrative management to commercial enterprise operations.

2013

Launched standardized board construction and established the first Board of Directors. In December, China National Salt Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in partnership with seven industry peers.

2017

The 3rd Party Congress adopted the "Innovation, Reform, Competition, Win-Win" operational guidelines, setting the goal of becoming "a national salt company plus an outstanding chemical enterprise" and achieving record economic performance.

2018

Completed restructuring from a wholly state-owned enterprise to a single-member state-owned company, officially renamed China National Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. (CNSIC).
